Restaurant Review: Bombay Bustle

Misal Pao

If you’re a seeker of Indian fine dining in a quirky yet relaxed setting, you need to head to Chef Rohit Ghai and Samyukta Nair’s latest venture, Bombay Bustle.

The theme? Homemade meals served on the trains of Mumbai with dishes London has never seen before. The setting? A snapshot of India’s train compartments – all jazzed up of course. What makes it even more special? The live dessert bar.

Bombay Bustle‘s menu aims to be all-encompassing, offering everything from small plates to tandoor-grilled delicacies, biryanis and ‘curries’, with plenty of vegetarian options throughout. I would struggle to name a single favourite but, admittedly, I am in love with their Misal Pao served in traditional steel tiffins. Their Trio of Dosa and Paneer Butter Masala would give most of London’s Indian restaurants a run for their money.

And when you’ve savoured enough of the spice, there awaits a pretty sweet surprise. Think Malai Cheesecake (layered with Jalebi and Boondi) or Chocolate Samosas – you are sure to be back for more. Definitely one of the best things that happened to London in 2017!
